What's happening at Klavier Music & Arts...well,we are still Not operating on Sundays,NO SUNDAYS,
period! We have some new teachers in our fold ...A Big Warm Welcome to You Guys!
We look forward to new, refreshing knowledge in your music teachings & to spread the joy of
music further.
Wow...it's almost the last quarter of 2011...so, what's new? We have been pretty busy with
sourcing new music books for students after the practical exam. Some new books in the market
such as: Schirmer piano performance editions(Hal Leonard),
Pianoworks collection(AB), Alfred's Premier piano course...
as for violin, the Violin Star collections are for students up to grade 3.
Btw, violin exam pieces 2012-2015 are out.The scales & arpeggios for violin
are revised & will take effect in 2012.
Speaking of music exams...Exams are necessary to evaluate students' progress to a certain
level in music & to give due recognition for students's effort.
But, this MUST NOT be the purpose one learns music in the first place! We do not want to create
another 'stress' for students in learning music!
Learning music should be enjoyable & pleasurable encounter every lesson.
Ask yourself...WHY do want to learn to play the piano or violin or guitar
in the first place?? Just to get a Certificate?!Pleezzz!
It's sad when we hear students stop their music classes when they are advised against it(exam)
Please understand that a teacher must have his/her reason for not sending a student for exam.
A lot of consideration is taken to task b4 a teacher comes to that decision.
We hope that a teacher's well-intentions are not misconstrued as deliberate or delaying a student's
chance of 'getting a Cert'. Students WILL be evaluated in exams when they are ready!
As teachers,we hope for nothing but the best in our students' endeavour of music learning.
